Participated in Centennial Anniversary Celebration of the China Meteorological Society (中國氣象學會成立100週年記念活動) in Qingdao, Shandong on 23 November 2024


Heywood Young Scientists Award
There were three nominations for the Heywood Young Scientists Award (R-prize). Our heartfelt thanks to Prof George LIU, Dr Ping-wah LI and Dr Danice NG for serving in the Award Panel.

The award goes to Dr Hu Chenxi from The Chinese University Hong Kong. His research topic is on “Urbanization Impacts on Tropical Cyclone Rainfall Extremes – Inferences From Observations and Convection-Permitting Model Experiments Over South China” published on Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres.

Zhu Kezhen Prize
There were four nominations for the Zhu Kezhen Prize. Our heartfelt thanks to Prof CH LIU, Ms Olivia LEE and Mr ML CHONG for serving in the Award Panel.

The award goes to Ms HUANG Yuanyuan from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her research topic is on “The Role of Cloud-Radiative Interaction in Tropical Circulation and the Madden-Julian Oscillation” .
